The Wise Men whenever they came brought lavish gifts: Gold, Frankscence and Myrrh.
Myrrh being commonly used as an anointing oil, frankincense as a perfume, and gold as a valuable. The three gifts had a spiritual meaning: gold as a symbol of kingship on earth, frankincense (an incense) as a symbol of deity, and myrrh (an embalming oil) as a symbol of death.
At the same time “The Maker of Heaven and Earth”, the Most High God (Genesis 14) is offering in this baby to the world the three most precious and Eternal gifts of “Faith Hope and Love“
God was “Making it So” that anyone and everyone would have access to the gifts of Love (the courage to make anything and everything GOOD), hope (The creative energy to see the worst of moments as the opportunity to live as if it was good even though it is not), and Faith (the calm resolve to see everything and anything as gift of goodness if we can see it so for faith is the evidence of things not seen by the natural eye but by the eye of faith).
“Make It So” is the underlying them of Christmas then and now! Make it so!
