We know pressure little factual data about those days, the days surrounding Jesus’ birth. Some even believe it to be a “made up story”.
What we do know is all those of the family, lineage of David had to go to Bethlehem to register for taxes (that would be all May and Joseph’s cousins, aunts and uncles etc. So where were they. Were they in the comfort inn, while Mary and Jospeh were out in the wind. Why didn’t someone in the family offer to share there room, their suite, their lodge. It is an assumption but a good one that judgment, bias, and prejudice towards them by their family and others directed the “close doors”. What is really amazing is that Mary and Joseph did not (in all of their discomfort of pregnancy, abandonment, judgment, bias and prejudice have hostility or anger in them toward anyone. The Love of God had so flooded their souls that they knew regardless of what people thought they were in the right place, doing the right thing, and everything would be all right and alright!
And it was.
They Made it So!
